Visit.Alsace enhanced with 4,600 multilingual fact sheets

The regional tourist office for France’s Grand-Est region connects Alsace-based tourism professionals and promotes activities in the region. The Visit.Alsace website is one of its flagship tools.
To support its website revamp, the tourist office was looking for a solution to produce some of its tourist accommodation descriptions in three languages (French, English and German).
Up until then, these descriptions had been non-standard or missing, given the lack of available writing resources. What’s more, the translations were of varying quality and did not always satisfy users. This was a real problem for Alsace, a region bordering on Germany that receives many German and English-speaking tourists.
The tourist office wanted to automatically generate high-quality multilingual accommodation descriptions to harmonize its site and boost its visibility in Google searches for tourist accommodation. The agency quickly chose Syllabs for its proposal that perfectly matched its specifications.

After examining the structured data provided by the client, Syllabs proposed a sample of texts in line with Visit.Alsace’s editorial policy and SEO recommendations.
Multilocal data from the Syllabs data base were used to enhance the accommodation descriptions with tourist information on the local towns and sights.
Once the sample was complete and validated, the Syllabs team developed three text engines (one for each language), as well as an API enabling the Visit.Alsace back-office to receive the ready-to-publish texts.
Syllabs has generated 4,600 accommodation descriptions for Visit.Alsace, including 1,800 in English and the same amount in German.
