Smile automates product descriptions for its client Grand Optical
Content Issue
Smile is the European leader in integration of open source solutions. The company helps its clients with digital ecosystem revamps and innovation, by developing and updating e-commerce platforms, responsive design sites, mobile apps and collaborative solutions.
One of its clients, Grand Optical, was looking for a new way to produce some of its numerous descriptions of eyewear sold on its e-commerce sites (Grand Optical, Grand Vision and Solaris). Smile regarded automated text generation as an effective response to its needs.
Smile was looking for a partner capable of quickly producing a large volume of high-quality SEO content. Syllabs stood out as the company that met all its criteria.
Answer given by Syllabs
As the project manager, Smile worked hand in hand with Syllabs teams on three main steps:
First, Syllabs developed sample texts in line with Grand Optical’s editorial policy.
Then Grand Optical product managers helped Syllabs teams interpret the data to enhance the editorial style (e.g. by using “elegant” to describe tortoiseshell glasses).
In the final phase before the development of the text engine, Syllabs created a sample of texts for each of the three sites, integrating Smile’s SEO proposals.
In two months, the Syllabs text engine was ready to deliver 18,000 product descriptions, which were integrated directly into the Grand Optical catalogue.
